I have a passion for the exploration of abstract expressionism. My artwork is an inner truth, a visual expression that captures an emotion, memories or a deep connection to my environment. I paint using mixed media using a limited palette so’s not to distract. My work can be described as nonrepresentative beginning with bold marks with graphite or charcoal to explore where it takes me. My process is often gestural with fluidity and freedom to capture a sense of movement and urgency. I frequently get excited by the ‘insignificant’ or ‘unexpected’ marks that emerge, for me these are the light-bulb moments that connect me to a much more powerful, profound message. My truth is my brush, paint and surface – the rest is a mystery.
